The Election Committee will host a "Speak Out" where members can personally take the measure of the Regular, Associate and Professional Associate candidates who are standing this year for election as FCCJ Board members and officers.

All confirmed candidates who wish a public forum to speak to FCCJ members on that evening should register at gmm202007@fccj.tokyo by noon, Tuesday, July 7.

The Speak Out will occur Tuesday, July 7, starting at 6:30 p.m. In line with tradition, the event will be catered. We'll serve Cutlet or Shrimp curry & rice, with tea or coffee, for 1,000 yen (tax included). And there's nothing to stop candidates from ordering non-caffeinated drinks from the bar to calm their nerves and smooth out their deliveries.

Non-candidates, please book your reservations at the front desk (tel. 03-3211-3161) no later than noon on the day, Tuesday, July 7, and submit your meal orders.

Timetable:
18:00 Candidates registered to speak are requested to assemble in the Speak Out Room for briefing.
18:30-19:00 Supper, tea/coffee
19:10-20:30 Each candidate speaks for 3 (three) minutes.
(Total duration of event depends on number of persons who register to speak.)
20:30-21:00 Q & A

* Please note the following changes under our recent switch to koeki status.

1. Six board positions are allocated to Regular Members. A further two positions will be assigned to the candidates who come in seventh and eighth in terms of votes. These two members will be designated alternative directors to replace, in order of their vote count standing, any directors who cannot complete their terms of office.

One kanji position is allocated to the Regular Member category. The one member will be designated alternative kanji to replace, in order of the vote count standing, the elected kanji who cannot complete his/her term of the position.

2. Three board positions are allocated to Associate and Professional Associate Members.
A further single position will be assigned to the candidate who comes in fourth in terms of votes. The one member will be designated alternative director to replace any Associate or Professional Associate director who cannot complete his or her term of office.

One kanji position is allocated to the Associate and Professional Associate Member category.
The one further member will be designated alternative kanji to replace, in order of the vote count standing, the elected kanji who cannot complete his/her term of the position.

3. Directors from the ranks of the regular members shall be appointed by the elected directors to the posts of President and 1st and 2nd Vice President.

The Election Committee
