Hiroe Sekine lived in the Los Angeles area for 30 years until 2023 where she performed with her own group at many venues including the highly prestigious Jazz Concert Series at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) three times. She has released six albums to date. The album ”a-mé” (rain) released in 2010 was selected one of the best 25 of all jazz albums released that year by “All About Jazz”. Her second album “After the Rainfall” was named “Best Music of 2012” by the internet site “Bluefat”. “One World One Sun” was released by Sony Music in 2017 and The Aquarian Weekly magazine selected it as the BEST ALBUM in the Worldbeat category for that year. One of the tracks from the album “Nippon Barre” was awarded FIRST PLACE by the International Songwriting Competition in the jazz category in 2017. She moved to Japan in 2023 where she continues to perform at various venues.
