Mark Harvest Month with Texan Fiddle and Welsh Celt

In Celtic folklore, September was Harvest Month, dedicated to securing the remaining crops before winter, and the Autumn Equinox marked the gathering of fruits and final crops. Join the FCCJ as we celebrate many people’s favorite time of year.
Maddy Brotherton is a virtuoso Celtic / Irish-style fiddle player based in Austin, Texas. As part of a short tour of Japan, she will be on stage with veteran FCCJ performer and Welsh native Morgan Paul Williams (guitar / vocal). They will perform a selection of Celtic-Irish folk songs and tunes plus Americana US folk music.
Maddy, a music college graduate, is the daughter of renowned Austin musician and music producer Rich Brotherton, perhaps best known as guitarist with The Robert Earl Keen Band for many years. These days he has his own Celtic-Irish folk band called Ulla, of which Maddy is a member. As an active working musician on the vibrant Austin music scene, Maddy is also a member of several other bands, playing music such as acoustic folk rock and eclectic indies to Gothic rock and B52 covers.
Paul, a long-term Shonan area resident, has been performing music for more than 40 years and his Celtic Wind band have appeared at FCCJ many times. As well as Celtic folk music, he plays a number of other styles, including folk rock, country rock, 1960s-70s pop rock and Hawaiian. He is also leader of the Tokyo-based Neil Young Tribute Band named Gold Rush and in 2016 he accompanied California singer-songwriter and Songwriters Hall of Famer Jack Tempchin (Eagles, Glenn Frey) on his tour of Japan.
