A Midsummer Wine Celebration
FCCJ Tasting Session: July 29 Only, 5:30pm
As temperatures soar in Tokyo, what better way to spend your evening than in the company of fellow wine lovers at the FCCJ? Come and enjoy the world's finest wines, with an accent on some of the best sparkling to set the mood for summer alongside a memorable lineup of reds and whites, all available at special prices for our members and guests.
Start your evening with the exquisite Clover Hill Tasmanian Cuvée (3,470 yen) and savour that wave of its famed tiny bubbles rush across your palate, then move on to a legendary rosé, the Taltarni Brut Tache 2015 (2,950 yen), voted Australia’s best sparkling rosé. Make your way down the list and compare with the evening’s crown jewel, Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Champagne, the reigning favourite in the JAL First Class Lounge, and at 7,600 yen, a great cost performer as well.
The white wines of the evening will equally enchant, starting with the Talley Chardonnay Estate San Luis Obispo Coast 2020 (4,740 yen), brought to you by a winery which enjoys the rare honour of receiving 5 stars from Robert Parker for both their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Enjoy its artfully nuanced flavours of citrus and nuts along with a famously elegant finish you will long remember.
And from the team which put Chile on the world’s wine radar all those years ago, comes a capricious yet surprisingly well-structured blend of tropical fruits and citrus in each sip of the acclaimed Errazuriz Max Reserva Chardonnay 2021 (2,330 yen).
The reds this evening will be fighting for bragging rights on a night filled with memorable choices. We highly recommend the Clos du Val Red Blend 2020 (4,470 yen), which delivers the best balance, elegance and long finish which we’ve come to expect of their reds, but particularly impressive in this 50th anniversary special edition. Spoil yourself with a taste of the Talley Pinot Noir Rosemary's Vineyard Arroyo Grande Valley 2018 (12,960 yen), of legendary Rosemary grapes fame, grown in the coolest temperatures amongst their vineyards. Brimming with currant, vanilla, a whisper of white pepper and impressive tannins, it’s velvety elegance at its best.
As always, an array of fine cheeses will be served to accompany the tasting, also available for sale on site at exceptional prices. Wine and cheese will be available for purchase from the vendors as usual, wine by credit card only (Master & VISA) and cheese and other snacks by cash only.
Two sessions are scheduled on July 29 only: 5:30pm - 6:35pm, and 6:55pm - 8:00 pm. Tickets are 2,200 yen, tax included, per session for members and guests. 株式会社ジャルックスの協力により、素晴らしいワインを御用意いたしました。
東京の気温が上昇する中、ワイン愛好家仲間と一緒に世界最高級のワインを試飲し、夏のムードを盛り上げる最高のスパークリングを中心に、赤と白の印象的なラインナップを味わうのは最高の楽しみではないでしょうか。
先ずは極上のクローバー・ヒル タスマニア キュヴェ（3,470 円）からスタートし、小さな泡が口中を駆け巡る感覚を味わい、次に伝説的なロゼ、オーストラリア・ビクトリア州のタルターニ・ブリュット・ターシュ2015（2,950 円）へ。JALのファーストクラスラウンジで長年愛されてきたジョセフ・ペリエのキュヴェ・ロワイヤル・ブリュット・シャンパーニュは、7,600 円とコストパフォーマンスも抜群です。
白ワインからは、タリー シャルドネ エステート サン ルイス オビスポ コースト 2020（4,740円）、全米のワイナリー約2500社のうち、ピノノワール、シャルドネともにロバートパーカー5つ星評価を得ている数少ないワイナリーです。
そして、数年前にチリを世界のワイン・レーダーに登場させた、トロピカル・フルーツと柑橘類がブレンドされた、気まぐれでありながら驚くほど骨格のしっかりした、評価の高いエラスリス マックス レゼルヴァ シャルドネ2021（2,330 円）もリストアップいたしました。
赤ワインからは、クロ・ド・ヴァル・レッド・ブレンド2020（4,470 円）は、私たちが彼らの赤ワインに期待する最高のバランス、エレガンス、長い余韻を提供してくれるが、この50周年記念の特別版は特に印象的です。タリー ピノ ノワール ローズマリー ヴィンヤード アロヨ グランデ ヴァレー 2018（12,960 円）は、彼らの畑の中で最も冷涼な気候を誇るローズマリーで栽培された伝説的なブドウから造られていてスグリ、バニラ、ホワイトペッパーの囁きと印象的なタンニンに溢れ、ベルベットのような優雅さが最高の1本です。
