Makoto Sakurai is the leader of the Japan First Party and well known for his views on issues concerning foreigners, especially Koreans in Japan.

This year, he will make his second bid to become governor of Tokyo after finishing fifth in 2016 with 1.74 percent of the vote. His previous campaign sought to abolish some aspects of social welfare and halve the number of illegal immigrants in Tokyo.

Sakurai has lodged a claim against the government of the People's Republic of China for damages as a result of the coronavirus, which originated in China.

He will come to the Club to explain his position on this and other issues.
