Nobel laureate Tasuku Honjo was recently a victim of fake news in the Covid-19 pandemic, and has come out to strongly refute claims that he once said the coronavirus was "man-made" and "invented" in a Chinese laboratory.
The Kyoto University immunologist, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2018 for his groundbreaking contributions to cancer treatment, will address the FCCJ on his thoughts on the current coronavirus pandemic, as well as the relationship between infectious diseases, cancer and our immune system.
Dr Honjo, who is now deputy director-general at the Kyoto University Institute for Advanced Study, is concurrently President of the Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation.
