With tensions rising in the South China Sea, incursions in Japanese waters and new missiles being paraded through Pyongyang, military cooperation between the United States and Japan is in the spotlight. Lt. Gen. Kevin B. Schneider, the senior U.S. military representative in Japan, will come to the club to brief on ongoing security issues, the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), COVID-19 and other topics.

As Commander of U.S. Forces Japan, Lt. Gen. Schneider is responsible for bilateral security issues and oversees 62,000 military and civilian personnel. He earned his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1988 and is a command pilot 530 combat hours flown during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
