PRESS CONFERENCE

The Latest from the Middle East from Key Player
Badr Abdulatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, Arab Republic of Egypt

17:00-18:00 Friday, August 23, 2024
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in English.

Earlier this week, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, our guest on Friday, in Riyadh. Relations in the Middle East have never been more important, as a possible ceasefire in the Hamas-Israel war may be negotiated this week, and neighboring nations will deal with ramifications for years depending on the outcome. Foreign Minister Adbelatty, who took office in July and formerly served as Egypt's Ambassador to the EU, will offer insights on all breaking news crucial to Japan and the world.

Dr. Adbelatty is visiting to meet with Japanese counterparts and take part in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) discussions on August 24 and 25. The TICAD 9 conference will held in Yokohama next year.

The foreign minister will speak on a broad range of issues including whether a ceasefire will be realized, and it's potential impact. For the latest, join us Friday for Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdelatty.

Please contact the FCCJ to ensure your multimedia space is secured. The event will also be livestreamed, but Q&A will start with only press at the FCCJ. Join us where the News is Made.
