PRESS CONFERENCE
Flying Cars Are Coming to Japan Sooner Than You Think
Tomohiro Fukuzawa, Founder, CEO, SkyDrive Inc.

11:00-12:00 Wednesday, February 18, 2026
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.

SkyDrive is a prominent startup leading Japan into the era of advanced air mobility, more commonly known as "flying cars" or "air taxis."

The industry is taking flight, with the United States targeting commercial operations in time for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, and the United Arab Emirates planning air taxi services as soon as this year.

In Japan, SkyDrive is moving toward commercializing the technology with similar speed. Visitors to last year's Osaka World Expo might have seen SkyDrive's demonstration flights, and the company plans to hold one over Tokyo Bay next month. Flights are being planned between Kansai and Oita in as early as 2028.

The CEO, Tomohiro Fukuzawa, is a University of Tokyo graduate who began his career at Toyota Motor before founding SkyDrive in 2018. He also serves on a government council that is setting rules for such flying vehicles.

Fukuzawa will join us at the FCCJ to discuss both Japan's and global industry trends, as well as SkyDrive's strategy that includes teaming up with companies like Suzuki Motor and JR East. He will also share insights on Skydrive's global partnerships in the U.S., U.A.E. and Southeast Asia.
