(The speech and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.)

Boxing and all sports have been impacted greatly by the global pandemic, but on November 3, Japan will host its first men's boxing title bout since the onset of COVID-19 when WBA Light Flyweight Super Champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (14-0) defends his title in Osaka. The bout against World No 11 Thanongsak Simsri (14-0) of Thailand will be the 26-year-old Kyoguchi's third title defense and will be broadcast live on his YouTube channel. To date, he has nine KOs.

As a safety precaution, the venue will be limited to half its normal capacity for the fight. But the boxing bill represents a step back to normality for indoor sports, which have been severely impacted by COVID-19. Kyoguchi will come to the FCCJ to preview his title defense, along with promoter Hitoshi Watanabe, Japan Boxing Commission Executive Director Tsuyoshi Yasukochi and Hiroshi Mizohata, Chairman of Osaka’s Convention and Tourism Bureau.
