PRESS CONFERENCE

Overview of the Foreign Relations of Jordan: The Road Ahead

Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister / Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

17:30-18:30 Tuesday, March 14, 2023
(The speech and Q & A will be in English.)

If any country can be said to be at the heart of the action in the Middle East it is Jordan, which borders Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. It has tried to remain above the turmoil of Middle East politics and war but is never far away from the problems of the region. It has tried to act as peacemaker in various disputes, partly to avoid being dragged into the same disputes.

Jordanian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Hussein Safadi will come to the FCCJ to inform the media on the latest developments in the region, the status of the Peace Process, the problem of refugees and Jordan's relations with Japan.

Ayman Hussein Safadi has been Foreign Minister since 2017 and previously was an advisor to King Abdullah. He was also Director of Communications at the Royal Hashemite Court and Press Secretary to Prince El-Hassan bin Talal. He holds a master's degree in International Journalism from Baylor University in Texas and a bachelor's degree in English Language & Literature from Yarmouk University. Mr. Safadi edited a number of Jordanian newspapers, including the Jordan Times and Al Ghad.
