Trump's Impact on China and Uyghur Rights
Rebiya Kadeer, President of World Uyghur Congress
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in Uyghur with English interpretation.

Rebiya Kadeer is the internationally recognizable face of China’s Uyghur people. As president of the World Uyghur Congress since 2006, she has visited many nations to explain the plight of her people and their political objectives. She took on this role after a nearly six-year stint in a Chinese prison.

Her life story is remarkable, having risen out of poverty to become China's richest self-made woman. She is the mother of eleven children. And now she is a figure many Uyghurs hope will lead their people into a more prosperous era.

Kadeer contends that the human rights of Uyghurs have been violated by the government in Beijing and that the international community has a significant role to play in ensuring that China respect its humanitarian commitments.

Under the Trump administration will relations between Washington and Beijing become rockier? How might this impact the direction of Uyghur rights? Come to the FCCJ and hear Rebiya Kadeer's answers to these questions and more.

Please reserve in advance, 3211-3161 or on the website (still & TV cameras inclusive). Reservations and cancellations are not complete without confirmation.
