PRESS CONFERENCE
"Sanseito: Japanese First"
Souhei Kamiya, Sansei-to leader
16:00-17:00 Thursday, April 9, 2025
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.
In the February 8 House of Representatives' election, Japan's Sanseito increased its number of representatives from three to 15, although aiming for twice that amount and running 190 candidates overall. The party's leader, Souhei Kamiya, called it a 75% success, while the party's new catchphrase – "I am Japan" – may have not found the traction hoped for, according to social media data.
Rep. Kamiya says 40% of the party's policies reflect those of the LDP prime minister, but what differs? Imperial secession? Immigration? Defense? Ties with other countries? For the latest from Nagatacho, join us for Sanseito Leader Souhei Kamiya, in what may be a must-watch event at the FCCJ.
