"DeepLearning:The Driving Engine for The Internet of Things"
Toru Nishikawa, President and CEO, Preferred Networks, Inc
Language: The speech and Q & A will be in Japanese with English interpretation.
Five-year-old firm Preferred Networks Inc. became Japan's most valuable startup last year, on the back of its deep learning algorithms with ties to Japan’s manufacturing might.
Toyota Motor Corp., its biggest backer, handed over $110 million on a bet its algorithms will help them compete with Google in driverless cars, while Fanuc Corp., the world's biggest maker of industrial robots is another collaborator. Some priced Preferred Networks at over $2 billion last year.
Founder Toru Nishikawa will be speaking about deep learning, the technology behind his company's meteoric rise, and how it ties into the future of the internet of things. Hear how Japan still makes cutting-edge manufacturing equipment, and how smart exactly industrial machines are becoming.
