"Whistleblower Case: Olympus vs Its In-House Lawyer"
Hiroki Sakakibara, an in-house lawyer at Olympus, will speak in named capacity for the first time about an alleged bribery case at a Chinese subsidiary of the company.
Olympus (Shenzhen) Industrial Ltd. is alleged to have made an illicit payment through a retained consultant to resolve a tax issue between the subsidiary and customs authorities in the Chinese city.
Olympus maintains that these allegations were fully investigated, but Sakakibara, the whistleblower, will come to the club to explain the situation and take questions on the case.
