Two candidates for the leadership of the Democratic Party for the People will speak at the Club on August 29 ahead of the party's leadership election on September 4. Yuichiro Tamaki, a Lower House member, is president and current co-leader of the party. Challenger Keisuke Tsumura is also a Lower House member. The party was formed in May by members of the former Democratic Party and Party of Hope (Kibo no To).
