Corporate Governance Reform 2025

The speech and Q&A will be in English.

Japan's capital markets are enjoying a rally, with robust trading activity driving the Nikkei Stock Average to a closing high of 45,754 on Sept 25. And chances are, the record might be rewritten by the time Hiromi Yamaji, Group CEO of the Japan Exchange Group (JPX), addresses the FCCJ at a professional luncheon.

The stock market's bullish run comes on the back of investor confidence arising from favorable external economic factors but also significant domestic structural changes, including a push for investor-friendly corporate reforms that have been reflected in improved corporate valuations.

Yamaji, who oversees the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Exchange, took the helm of the JPX after a distinguished career in investment banking spanning decades. He will discuss the Group's initiatives, in line with the Financial Services Agency's Action Programme for Corporate Governance Reform 2025, and more broadly, address the fundamental changes taking place in corporate boardrooms across Japan.
