Pops 'n Standards

A Los Angeles native, David Chester's talents as a pianist and songwriter first brought him to Tokyo in 1993. Since then, he has performed at concert halls throughout Japan, as well as at every top hotel and club in Tokyo. He has also written more than 80 original songs released in Japan, including English-language versions of J-pop hits for such Grammy artists as Richard Marx and Roberta Flack.

Swinky" (Esther Thirimu) is a Kenyan singer-songwriter based in Tokyo, Japan. Owing to her roots in gospel, R&B, jazz, soul and rock music, she's comfortable singing in different styles and settings, from sultry tunes in intimate venues to power ballads in large concert halls. **She has sung on a number of popular TV shows in Japan, including Nodojiman the World and Monomane Grand Prix, and provided backup vocals for major local and international artists, such as Mariah Carey and Kato Miliyah. She also delves into acting every now and then, most notably landing a role in the Japanese movie Pikanchi Half. She travels around Japan performing at company events, hotels, weddings and festivals, serenading crowds in Japanese, English and even Kiswahili.

And remember, it's free. No cover charge. No music charge. You just can't beat SNL for an exciting, entertaining night out in Tokyo.
