Jazz & Pops Standards:

Zabutone is a group of American musicians who are long-time Tokyo residents. The band plays a mix of originals and covers in a mellow funky Japonica vibe that reflects their musical backgrounds ( classical, jazz, Japanese traditional, rock, funk and Latin) and experiences living in Japan.

New York native Jonathan Katz has performed in all manner of venues, from soba shops to concert halls, from the University of Rome and Canterbury Cathedral to the Blue Note New York and Carnegie Hall. He has worked as pianist in the bands of world-class jazz musicians such as Ray Brown, Lew Tabackin, and Eddie Henderson, and is the leader of the 19-piece Tokyo Big Band. He can also be found sensitively accompanying international singers at the famed New York Bar in the Park Hyatt Hotel in Shinjuku.

Since moving to Tokyo in 2007, New Jersey native Pat Glynn has performed with artists including Eddie Henderson, Sadao Watanabe, Keiko Lee, Tommy Campbell, and Take Six. He can be heard around Tokyo at venues like the Cotton Club, Motion Blue, and Body and Soul as well as at many world-class hotels like the Park Hyatt Shinjuku and Mandarin Oriental.

Californian Bruce Huebner is the first non-Japanese to graduate from the prestigious Traditional Music Department of the Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai) where he studied under Designated National Treasure Yamaguchi Goro. He has recorded extensively and led jazz, world, and Japanese traditional music tours in Japan, Europe, and the United States.

And remember, it's free. No cover charge. No music charge. You just can't beat SNL for an exciting, entertaining night out in Tokyo.
