Exhibition Reception/Talk Show

This month’s "The Beauty of Horses” exhibit is a collaborative exhibition featuring unique works by domestic and international artists. And to celebrate this rare gathering of worldclass photos and images in this -the Year of the Horse- which coincides with the Chinese New Year, we invite you to enjoy a special panel discussion with the photographers who created these magnificent works.

Participating Artists:
Photographers Junji Takasago, Masaaki Miyazawa, and Atsushi Hiratsuka, as well as horse-loving author Brian Long
Junji Takasago is a marine biology and environmental photographer, and his photograph of flamingos taken in Bolivia won the Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2022 award for best natural art.
Masaaki Miyazawa is the official documentary photographer for the 62nd Ise Grand Shrine's Shikinen Sengu (yearly rebuilding of the shrine), and his diverse work includes "Portraits of Thoroughbreds" serialized in the JRA official magazine, as well as photographing Nishikigoi carp and kabuki actors.
Atzshi Hiratzka, a young photographer, focuses on fashion portraits and artist portraits, particularly in monochrome and stylish art photography featuring horses from Ascot.
Automotive historian and author Brian Long will also discuss the British culture of horses and hounds, where horses have been a familiar presence since his childhood.
We will also be introducing Paris-based photographer Antoine Poupel, whose avantgarde works feature the equestrian theater troupe Zingaro, which has captivated Japanese audiences.
On the day, we will also be exhibiting British ceramics such as EQUUS by ROYAL CROWN DERBY, so we look forward to your attendance.

2月の展示会は個性の違う内外のアーティストの合同作品展です。
午年の2026年、春節の2月、4,000年前から人間と間近に生きてきた美しい馬の姿をとらえた作品を愛でながら、製作した写真家たちの語らいをお楽しみください。

参加されるアーティスト:
写真家の高砂 淳二、宮澤 正明、平塚 篤史、そして、馬を熱愛する作家ブライアン ロング
高砂 淳二さんは、海洋生物、環境写真家として活躍されていますが、ボリビア・ウユニ湖で撮影したフラミンゴの写真は、ロンドン自然史博物館「Wildlife Photographer Of the Year 2022」自然芸術部門最優秀賞を受賞しました。
宮澤 正明さんは、伊勢神宮第62回式年遷宮の公式記録写真家、そしてJRA機関紙に連載される「サラブレッドの肖像」で有名で さらに、錦鯉や歌舞伎俳優の撮影など多岐に渡って活動されています。
若手の平塚 篤史さんは、ファッションポートレート、アーティスト・ポートレイトなどを中心に活動され、特にモノクローム作品、スタイリッシュなアート写真を送りだしています。
自動車歴史作家のブライアン ロングさんには、幼少時から馬が身近な存在であった生国イギリスの、馬と猟犬というイギリス文化についてもお話しいただく予定です。
また、日本人も魅了した騎馬劇団Zingaroを題材としたアヴァンギャルドな作品を発表している在パリの写真家、アントン・プーペルについても御紹介いたします。
当日は英国陶器 ロイヤルクラウンダービー エクウス(馬) 他を展示いたしますので御鑑賞ください。
