February 2026 Exhibition
The Beauty of Horses
Featuring Various Photographers
January 31 - February 27, 2026

2026 is The Year of the Horse, and the FCCJ is presenting a second horse exhibition to celebrate the Chinese New Year in February. This time, we bring you the dynamic beauty of horses in photographic form following in the footsteps of the artwork last month. In February, the lunar new year, FCCJ Gallery will exhibit the works of well-known photographers who have captured the beauty and essence of ‘equines.’ Along with dogs and cats, horses are perhaps the animals with the longest and most intimate relationship with humans. They are also the animals most frequently captured in art.

For February, we present a stunning selection of a diverse range of horses, including rare wild horses from Japan and abroad, to pedigree racehorses and horses used as performers in equestrian theater.

This month's photographers include Antone Poupel (France), Junji Takasago, known for his flamingo and marine life photography, Masaaki Miyazawa, known for his "Portrait of a Thoroughbred" at Ise Shrine, Yusuke Okada, whose works include penguins, Japanese macaques and manatees, and Atsushi Hiratsuka, an art-fashion photographer. Additionally, we will be exhibiting horse racing snapshots by photographer Brian Long and realistic paintings by Jacqueline Stanhope. We will also be holding a special talk show on Tuesday, February 17th, during the Chinese New Year. We hope you will join us.

太陽陰暦の新年である2月、FCCJ ギャラリーは美しい馬の姿を捉えたユニークな写真家の作品を一同に展示します。おそらく馬は、犬や猫とならび、人間との長く親しい関係を持つ動物であり、またアートに於いてもその姿をもっとも多く捉えられた存在でしょう。
今月は、国内外の希少な野生馬、磨き抜かれた競走馬、騎馬演劇の役者である馬など、多彩な馬の等しく美しい姿をお楽しみください。
写真家は、アントーン・プーペル（仏）、フラミンゴと海洋生物でお馴染みの高砂淳二、伊勢神宮・「サラブレッドの肖像」の宮澤正明、ペンギン・ニホンザル・マナティなどの岡田裕介、アート系ファッション写真の平塚篤史。加えて、作家のブライアン・ロングの競馬スナップ、写実絵画のジャクリーン・スタンホープも特別展示いたします。
また、春節の2月17日（火）にトークショーを開催いたします。ぜひ御参加ください。
