From the GM's Desk: Thank you Hanif!

Dear Members,

By now I am sure most of you have heard that Hanif, the face of the Main Bar for the past 46 years, has made the decision to retire. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Hanif will return to work before he leaves, but a farewell party is planned for Hanif on May 21 (please reserve at Reception) so that you may say farewell in person and perhaps hear that iconic “oh my god desuyo” one last time. In order to assist Hanif to relocate back to Pakistan, the club has set up a fund to which members can donate, at Reception (in cash or sign a chit) or by credit card or bank transfer information (contact management to make arrangements, thankyouhanif@fccj.or.jp).

In other club news, Associate and Professional Associate members have been invited to attend the March 27 General Meeting as observers. The main agenda item is the approval of the budget for the new fiscal year and amendments to the Articles of Association. Dinner will be served from 6:30 - 7pm (advance reservation at Reception required) and the meeting starts promptly at 7pm.

And finally, the weather has warmed up so why not join our “last Friday of the month” walk/jog/run around the palace. Participate at your own pace from 6:30pm with rehydration at your discretion in the Main Bar afterwards.

No.1 Shimbun Articles:
The No.1 Shimbun (club magazine) is seeking contributors, contact the editor, Justin McCurry, to make a pitch for a article.

Member Guests:
Please note guests will be asked to wait at Reception if they arrive prior to their member host.

Membership Information:
Help your club grow and earn dining vouchers by introducing new members.

Main Bar:

  • Try the premium Hibiki whisky, available on special.
  • Saturday Nite Live offers a variety of entertainment several times a month and is free for members (non members will incur a 1,000 yen cover charge). Upcoming schedule:

April 12: Ska Face Tokyo plays vintage soul, ska and two-tone hits
April 19: Biwa Meets Electronica
May 10: R&B: Good Harvest.

  • A “Comedy Night” is planned for May 24.

The Pen & Quill Dining Room:
"Around the Table," a new dinner dining experience featuring a special guest and a uniquely memorable evening of conversation and fine dining begins on April 2 with renowned Nihonga artist Allan West. Limited to just 10 people, “Around the Table” will be held periodically, stay tuned for more.
Lunch and dinner menus have been revised, please do try our premium menus and service for your special occasion.

Masukomi Sushi Bar:

If you are planning Hanami, or another outing to enjoy the spring weather, don’t go without a special bento from Masukomi. Featuring two layers of delicacies, there is enough for two or three party-goers!
New take-out spring “Futomaki” features fatty-tuna, cherry salmon, shrimp and squid.
The new Sakura Kaiseki eight course menu also features signature spring dishes, including Sakura sea bream and trout, nanohana, and fukinoto & taranome tempura.

Banquets:

Library:
Members can post notices (job openings/wanted, items for sale/wanted, events, etc etc) on the library general noticeboard, simply ask the staff for assistance.

午後6時30分より、御自分のペースでご参加ください。終了後はメイン・バーで御自由にエネルギー補充をされるのもよいのではないでしょうか。
