Kenji Kohno

NHK

Kenji Kohno is Editor-at-Large of NHK in Tokyo and anchors a series of NHK Special, its flagship documentary program.

He has represented NHK at various international conferences such as the annual Davos meeting and was recently assigned to expand relations with international media around the world.

Before assigned to the current position in July 2023, he was Executive Director and Chief Commentator of NHK's Commentators Bureau.

Previously, he was an anchor for NHK's primetime news program, "NewsWatch 9".

He started his career at NHK as correspondent in 1986. For a total of twenty years, he had been posted overseas at such news bureaus as New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Tehran, Iran.

He interviewed many foreign leaders including Iran's President Khatami. He was known as the first Japanese journalist who had an exclusive interview with US President Obama in 2009.

Carey Finn

Carey hails from Cape Town, is a long-term resident of Japan, and has two decades of experience in the world of media. Currently editor-in-chief of Tokyo Cheapo and Japan Cheapo, she is passionate about positioning written content as craft, so that it stands out - and stands strong - in the changing production landscape.

Trained as a journalist and holding a Masters in Communication, Carey has covered topics ranging from travel to business, marketing, and more, and is as comfortable profiling C-suite executives as she is reviewing a corner coffee shop. She has worked freelance and full time over the years, in both South Africa and Japan, and has dabbled in the world of academia along the way - lecturing in both Media and English at a number of universities.

 Carey's independent work has been published in Business Insider, Yahoo News, and The Japan Times, and she is a contributing writer to MarkLives. She is honoured to be a guest judge for the Japan Travel Awards 2025.

Robert E. Peterson

Highly respected for his energy, enthusiasm, curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit, Robert E Peterson (Bob-san) makes things happen. A marketing and strategic planning executive, consultant and change-agent for over 40-years, his work has spanned fast moving consumer goods to the automotive industry and general business problem solving. He began his career with Proctor & Gamble and moved to the advertising agency business in New York City.  He is CEO of the Wickaboag Consulting Group Inc.

He relocated to Tokyo in 1982.  He has also lived in Los Angeles, Brussels, Rome, Mexico City and Manila. He worked with Toyota Motor Corporation plus its Toyota & Lexus distributors around the world from 1982-2017. Other clients are Recruit Holdings Co, Asahi Intecc, Automotive Marketing Consultants, Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation (METI), CLSA Securities, and Dentsu among others.

He is a mentor for the start-up program at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.  He is also CEO of MIMIKO INC. manufacturer and distributor of Toute Nuit Facial Wrinkle Patches sold exclusively on AMAZON. 

He is author of the book Make It Happen! He has returned to the FCCJ after a 30-year hiatus.  He is married with two sons.

Yasuhiro Miyata

Yasuhiro Miyata, born in 1961 in Hyogo Prefecture, has a wealth of experience in global business. After graduating from Kobe University's School of Business Administration, Department of Commerce Science, in 1984, he began his career at Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. in the electronics industry.

In 1987, Yasuhiro studied at the Beijing Language Institute (currently the Beijing Language and Culture University), acquiring valuable language skills and cultural insights that have proven beneficial throughout his career. From 1990 to 2014, he undertook multiple international assignments in Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. During this period, Yasuhiro managed business relationships with various global customers for the company's Electronics Segment

Currently, Yasuhiro serves as a Managing Director at Sumitomo Electric, based out of Tokyo headquarters.

After joining Enjin Co., Ltd., he worked as a PR consultant for more than 100 companies, while also developing media and reforming the human resources area. He currently serves as head of the business division and executive officer of the company's core business.
