Yohta Tomino

NHK

My name is Yohta Tomino from NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). I have been shooting daily news and documentaries both in Japan and abroad, using my skills as a news cameraman. I graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Art in 2008. When I was at university, I made a documentary film about people living on a remote island in Okinawa prefecture that was screened and acclaimed at the Yokohama Student Film Festival.

After graduation, I joined NHK's Toyama Bureau, Oita Bureau, and its headquarters in Tokyo, and spent three years as a correspondent at the New York Bureau from 2019 to 2022. I've just returned to the headquarters, and I've been working in my current role since the summer.

Franziska Jorke

Olympus Corporation

After obtaining a Master's degree in German, Italian, and Media Culture at the Universities of Hamburg, Germany, and Bologna, Italy - and numerous internships in journalism and publishing - Franziska started her career at Olympus in 2004.

Initially, she learned her craft in B2C PR for the then-still-strong B2C business. In 2011, the accounting scandal prompted Olympus to restructure its communications departments to deal with the crisis. From then on, Franziska set up communications structures in EMEA and increasingly interacted globally.

In 2019, as part of more extensive transformations, she moved to the headquarters in Tokyo, where she built a global communications team and created corresponding structures. Her focus areas include Change and Crisis Communications, Transformation Communications, Team Development, Health Communications, Social Media & PR, and also (Cross) Cultural Development.

Today she leads Olympus' global communications out of Germany, with frequent stays in Japan, where most teams operate. Her private interests include Japanese literature, hiking, and yoga.
